The men in glasses had always fallen back on one word: “attachment.”
Attachment issues, Axel thought idly, cupping a full blossom in both hands, the lines of dirt beneath his fingernails looking black against the pale flesh of the flower.
Attachment disorder, he thought, leaning in to breathe deeply, tasting the nuances.
Luckless. Hopeless. Heartless.
